Anthony Joseph Mitchell originally hails from Lyndhurst, New Jersey. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) from 2008 to 2012. During his time with the USMC, he served as an 1831 Assault Amphibious Vehicle crew member while stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and Okinawa, Japan.
He completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2009 – 2010. Anthony performed various duties related to the operation and maintenance of the Assault Amphibious Vehicle, including tactical employment, gunnery using the onboard weapon systems, communications, and maneuver.
After serving his country, Anthony returned home and enrolled himself in college. He knew that he had an interest in business. While he was attending college, Anthony started his own personal training business, Designed Fitness, where he catered to students and young professionals looking to get back in shape.
He started his academic journey at Bergen Community College, where he excelled and graduated with an Associates in Business Administration. Subsequently, Anthony enrolled at Fairleigh Dickinson University where he pursued a double major in Accounting and Business. He formed a strong bond with other veterans who attended FDU. After obtaining his Bachelors degree in Accounting and Business, Anthony completed the Executive M.S. in Finance from the City University of New York – Baruch College. Anthony used the knowledge gained throughout his studies to start his own business ventures.
Anthony is what you would consider your typical vetrepreneur (veteran entrepreneur). He has an active real estate license with HAUS agency, is a certified financial planner with Primary Financial, is the owner of Devil Dawgs Hot Dog Stand in North Arlington, and the Bergen Hounds Town, a dog kennel in Lodi. He has helped countless families realize the American Dream and plan for their financial future. He likes to tell all of his clients “If You Want the American Dream, Trust A Marine”.
Anthony also believes strongly in giving back to the community. He and his partners collaborate with the Bergen County Division of Veteran Services to offer the veteran community the VA Home Loan Seminar. This seminar educates veterans, reservists, and family members about their VA Home Loan benefits. In addition, Anthony serves on the Bergen County Veteran Services Advisory Board. He wants to continue to bring his skills and knowledge of business to assist local veterans in the community.
