Sgt. Bill Huhn is a US Army Veteran who served with the 3rd Infantry Division (I.D.) during the Korean War. His years of service range from 1947-1949 and 1951-1952. His duty stations include Fort Jackson, South Carolina, the Persidio of San Francisco, Fort Campbell, Kentucky and South Korea.
Bill received many awards such the Republic of Korea War Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, the U.N. Korean Service Medal, Battle Stars, a Combat Infantry Badge, Unit Awards and Regimental Awards.
Bill currently resides in Park Ridge, New Jersey where he has retired from working as a Vice President and General Manager in the chemical transportation industry. Bill loves spending time with veterans and sharing stories of his heroism with fellow 3rd I.D. veterans who love to visit and hear his stories. Bill is currently an American Legion member with Post 153 in Park Ridge, NJ.
When asked about his military career Bill explained “One of the best benefits I got from my military service was attending college which allowed me to have a civilian career.” He went on to say he met wonderful people in the military.
“That’s why guys should look to go in,” he said. “It can expand your life!”

Bergen County Division of Veteran Services
The Division of Veterans Services was established in 1977 to provide resident veterans and their dependents with information and assistance in obtaining earned entitlements from federal, state, and local governments, as well as any that are available from the private sector.
Through a quarterly newsletter and direct client contact, the division provides Bergen’s veterans organizations and their auxiliaries and individual residents with up-to-date benefit information.
The New Jersey Veterans Network is a volunteer mobile outreach program that is completely dedicated to helping veterans and their families live a better life. The mission of NJVN is to create a system of Community Veteran Liaisons (CVL) whose role is to identify veterans and connect them with resources and solutions designed to meet their unique set of needs.
