Christian Bauer is originally from Teaneck, New Jersey. He joined the United States Army in 2009. In 2010, Christian served a tour of duty in Iraq as a 92G (Gulf) Food Services Specialist, where he supervised, prepared, cooked, and served food in the field and in garrison for Special Operation units. As a food service logistic manager, he ensured that crucial supplies would get to soldiers in order to continue operations and supervised contractors in the dining facility.

After four years of service, Christian was honorably discharged. He returned home to New Jersey and enrolled at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies. While in college, Christian worked as an Uber driver to support his family while he attended school. After completing his Bachelors of Arts in 21 months, Christian decided to pursue and ultimately obtained his Executive MBA at the Florham campus of FDU. All the while, he also volunteered with veteran service organizations to help other veterans transitioning from military life.

In 2015, Christian became one of the first interns at the Bergen County Division of Veteran Services. Throughout his internship, he worked as a Homeless Veterans Liaison. In that role, Christian was tasked to assist veterans with transitional housing. Christian was known for his kindness and compassion. Though it was just “an internship,” Christian’s work ethic and dedication set the standard for future interns. As a result of his work and efforts, Bergen County was able to end veterans homelessness in 2016.

After his successful internship, Christian found a position at the Department of Labor followed by one at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. Currently, he is a Portfolio Management Specialist with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Outside of work, he spends time with his lovely family and is a church leader at the Centro de Adoracion Nueva Canaan, a bilingual LatinX church located in Hackensack. Christian has never lost his desire to help others and still volunteers helping out veterans in need. He strongly believe that we all have the ability to give back to the community in unique ways.

Today, Christian resides in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey with his lovely wife, Veronica Candia, and has 4 beautiful children, Christian  Adrian, 19, Thais 7, Bianca, 4, and Theo, 9 months.

Thank you for your service!
